The range of phenotypes expressed by a given genotype under any given set of environmental conditions or over a range of environmental conditions. For example, Drosophila homozygous for the recessive gene “eyeless” may have phenotypes varying from no eyes to completely normal eyes, but the usual condition is an eye noticeably smaller than normal.
