It is an offence under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for a person of either sex intentionally to expose his genitals with the intention that someone will see them and be alarmed or distressed. The offence replaces offences under the Vagrancy Act 1824 and the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 which applied only to exposure by men.
