A glycoprotein found in plant cell walls in association with pectin. It resembles collagen of animal cells, being rich in trans‐4‐hydroxy‐l‐proline residues; it also contains l‐arabinofuranose and d‐galactopyranose residues attached in oligosaccharide units to the hydroxyl groups of the protein.
