Quick Reference

One of a group of superficial muscles lying in the posterior fascial compartment of the forearm acting on the wrists and fingers. It has its origin on the lateral supracondylar ridge of the humerus and insertion on the second metacarpal. It is a major wrist extensor, contributes to wrist abduction, and steadies the wrist during finger flexion.
