A service to companies whereby a third party firm immediately pays the company a high percentage (usually about 80 per cent) of debts owing to it immediately and then claims the full amount from the debtor. This improves the cash‐flow for the company. Factoring companies also offer services such as debt‐collection, sales accounting, and protection against bad debts.
