Quick Reference

Are special policies adopted by the organization which are designed to be sensitive to the needs of family life. Such policies denote an approach that emphasizes the importance of encouraging employees to balance work and family commitment. Whilst many initiatives are aimed at women who choose or are obliged to work whilst also shouldering the main burden of childcare responsibilities, some initiatives are also designed to allow men to become more involved in family responsibilities. Specific policies include: allowing flexitime, providing paid parental leave beyond the legal minimum, paternity leave, career breaks, working from home, and paid leave for the care of elderly or sick relatives.
