His first ballet designs were for Jack Carter's Agrionia (1964), and he has since designed for most of the major ballet companies, including Stuttgart Ballet (Peter Wright's Giselle), Royal Ballet Touring Company (Ashton's The Dream), London Festival Ballet (Carter's Coppélia), Australian Ballet (Prokovsky's The Three Musketeers), Royal Ballet (MacMillan's Winter Dreams and Sleeping Beauty, 2006), Vienna State Opera (MacMillan's Manon), Birmingham Royal Ballet (Peter Wright's Coppélia) and Perm Ballet (Makarova's Swan Lake).
