Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

Exclusion of foods containing synthetic colours, flavours, and preservatives and limitation of intake of fruits and vegetables such as oranges, apricots, peaches, tomatoes, and cucumbers; intended to treat hyperactive children. There is little evidence either that these foods cause hyperactivity or that the exclusion diet is beneficial, although there is some evidence that some synthetic colours may affect behaviour and be a factor in hyperactivity.

Subjects: Medicine and Health.
