A condition in which the femur is curved outwards from its proximal to its distal end, giving the appearance of bow legs. It is an unusual condition usually caused by skeletal deformity, rather than being mechanically induced. It places extra tensile stress on the medial aspect of the hips and the lateral aspect of the knee.
