(1737–94) Revolutionary army officer, born in Woburn, Massachusetts. Flagg was a friend of Paul Revere, with whom he was a member of a society of bell ringers as well as of the Sons of Liberty. During the Revolutionary War he served in the Rhode Island armed forces, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel.
