Quick Reference

(bc.1710; d1775). French furniture-maker based in Paris. He specialized in clock cases in the Rococo style, decorated either in wood marquetry or in the brass and tortoiseshell marquetry in the style of André-Charles Boulle. He also sold bronze cases, but as ébénistes were not allowed to work in bronze, he was probably acting as a dealer.
