Fragmentin-1 was originally identified as a 32-kDa granule protein from rat NK cells and T cells that induced rapid DNA fragmentation and cell death by apoptosis and is identical to granzyme A (262 aa in humans). Fragmentin-2 (247 aa) is granzyme B and fragmentin-3 (264 aa) is granzyme K.
