Free Alongside Ship

An Incoterm denoting an export contract in which the seller pays for sending the goods to the port of shipment and bringing them alongside the ship but not for loading them. The seller must pay for any lighterage required. Once the goods are within reach of the ship's crane, all costs and risks pass to the buyer.
