A right set out in Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act1998. Freedom of thought is an absolute right, but the right to manifest one's beliefs or religion is a qualified right. The right to proselytize is protected under the Convention (Kokkinakis v Greece (App no 14307/88) [1993] ECHR 20).
