Cond. ballet at Salzburg Fest. 1925. Cond. opera at Tbilisi and was chief cond. Moscow All-Union Radio Orch. Champion of Delius, Mahler, and others among his contemporaries. His comps. incl. opera Die vernarrte Prinzess; Verklärte Nacht, mez., ten., orch. (1901); and Das trunkene Lied, sop., cont., bass, ch., orch. (1904).
