Quick Reference

Cells frozen in the presence of cryoprotectant and stored at −70ºC or in liquid nitrogen. The stock can be used to produce cells of comparable passage number, avoiding the inevitable drift in properties that occurs with subculturing, and also as an insurance against loss or contamination. Frozen sperm is stored in a similar way.
