In analytical psychology, any of the personality types identified by Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961). According to Jung, people fall into the rational type (subdivided into feeling type or thinking type) or irrational type (subdivided into sensing type or intuitive type). Jung also distinguished between extraverts and introverts. See also Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
