A homodimeric NADP(H)-binding protein (tissue-specific transplantation-antigen 3, TSTA3, EC 1.1.1.271, a dimer of 321 aa subunits), first isolated from erythrocytes and the enzyme responsible for the last steps of GDP-l-fucose synthesis from GDP-d-mannose. Up-regulation of Fx expression, leading to an increase in GDP-l-fucose levels, may be a marker for hepatocellular carcinoma.
