The partial development of two teeth from a single tooth bud following incomplete division; they appear clinically as double teeth. Unlike fusion, the number of teeth in the arch is not reduced and there is a single root structure with an enlarged pulp canal. It most commonly affects the anterior teeth. See also connation.
