An Old English poem of 2,396 lines in the Junius manuscript and previously attributed hypothetically to Caedmon. Lines 235–851 are an interpolated section (usually called ‘Genesis B’) translated from a continental Saxon original which deals in a dramatic and vivid manner with the Fall of the Angels.
