Quick Reference

The Institute of Geological Sciences has published a series of maps of drift geology, based on the Ordnance Survey 1:63 360 (one inch to one mile) maps for practically the whole of Great Britain, but many of the early ones are no longer in print. This series is being replaced by a new one using the scale of 1:50 000. Sheets are also available on larger scales for much of Great Britain. Other series show the solid geology of Britain.
