(GDS) (je-ri-at-rik)

a self-report tool to measure depression in adults aged 65 years or older. It consists of a 30-item questionnaire with yes–no answers; a score of 15 or above indicates the presence of depression but the test should be used in conjunction with other results from a comprehensive examination.
