Quick Reference
A heavily eroded or submerged crater on a planetary surface. In some lunar examples, such as Lambert R, only the highest peaks of the crater protrude above a covering of lava that has all but submerged it. In others, such as Lamont on Mare Tranquillitatis, the original crater has been completely covered, but later subsidence has caused wrinkle ridges to trace out the position of the old crater rim.
