Manx counterpart of the Irish each uisce, Scottish kelpie, and Welsh ceffyl dwfr, the mischievous water-horse. Although the glashtin might take human form, he could not hide his horse's ears. Sometimes confused with the heavier, shambling fenodyree, but more human in appearance. See also CABYLLUSHTEY.
