Overview

glicentin

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

An N-terminal peptide (69 aa) derived from proglucagon by post-translational processing in the intestine. The glucagon sequence is within glicentin but the C-terminal region of glicentin is oxyntomodulin and there is an N-terminal ‘glicentin-related pancreatic peptide’ extension. Although glicentin has physiological effects these may well be glucagon-mediated and no glicentin receptor has been identified.
