Of, relating to, or denoting a speech sound articulated by interrupting the airstream at the glottis by closing the vocal folds, as in the glottal stop used in the cockney dialect in place of the usual /t/ sounds in utterances such as Pat's got a lot of bottle (Pa's go' a lo' of bo'le).
