Quick Reference

A member of the steroid receptor coactivator (SRC) family of transcriptional regulators (GRIP1, nuclear receptor coactivator-2, 1128 aa) that interacts with steroid receptors once they have bound ligand and moved from the cytoplasm to the nucleus; the complex activates transcription. GRIP1 interacts with all five steroid receptors and class II nuclear receptors, including thyroid receptor α, vitamin D receptor, retinoic acid receptor α, and retinoid X receptor α. Degradation of GRIP1 by the 26S proteosome may regulate its availability.
