A dangerous addiction, mainly of adolescents, due to inhalation of volatile vapors of the solvent used to bond the adhesive glue used to assemble model airplanes. The commonly used solvent is toluene, a central nervous system depressant that in small doses causes euphoria. Addicts enhance the effect by placing the solvent in a plastic bag, and as they lose consciousness, they may asphyxiate themselves or die of toluene overdose.
