Ger. organist, composer, and klavier player. Chamber musician to Count Brühl 1751–6. Wrote 2 kbd. concs., 6 fl. trios, etc. Bach gave him a copy of his 30 vars. for hpd.—the Goldberg Variations, pubd. c. 1741 as Klavier‐Übung, iv—but the story that they were commissioned for him to play is doubtful.
