C18 Gothick cornice or frieze consisting of a series of interlacing pointed arches not carried on anything, but with pendants hanging from where the arches would normally spring. A curious C20 use of the motif was under the cornice of Ideal (Palladium) House, Great Marlborough Street, London (1928), by Raymond Hood.
