A technique to anaesthetize the inferior alveolar, lingual, and long buccal nerves by depositing local anaesthetic solution close to the head of the mandibular condyle under the insertion of the lateral pterygoid muscle. It was first described in 1973 by George Gow-Gates, an Australian dentist.
