A coasting vessel used along the coasts of India during the 18th and 19th centuries. They ranged from about 150 to 300 tons and were normally lateen rigged on two masts, though some of the smaller ones had only a single mast with a lateen sail. These smaller ones also had sweeps for rowing when the wind failed.
