Quick Reference

A portrait of someone aged twenty-four in 1588. This, and a vague resemblance to the Droeshout engraving, are all that connect it with Shakespeare. It was found in an inn in County Durham, and had for long been in a farmhouse in the village of Grafton, Northants. It now hangs in the John Rylands Library, Manchester.
