A peptide toxin (ω-grammotoxin, 36 aa), from the Chilean rose tarantula Grammostola spatulata, that inhibits P/Q and N-type voltage-gated calcium channels by binding at a site associated with channel gating, not the binding region of pore blockers such as ω-*conotoxins and ω-*agatoxin-IIIA.
