An ulcerating disease that occurs mainly in developing tropical countries, presumably caused by the Gram-negative Klebsiella donovani. It produces indolent granulomatous lesions on the genitalia and adnexa. Transmission is mainly, but not exclusively, by sexual contact with an infected person.
