English architect. He made his name as Architect to the Underground Electric Railways Company of London Ltd., working with Harry Wharton Ford (1875–1947), Staff Architect to the Company (1899–1911). He designed stations for the Baker Street and Waterloo Railway, the Great Northern, Piccadilly, and Brompton Railway, and the Charing Cross, Euston, and Hampstead Railway, all in a clean, clear, functional manner, using glazed bricks and tiles in a simple, uncomplicated way.
