(b Aix-en-Provence, 20 Oct 1751; d Aix-en-Provence, 12 May 1846). French silk-painter. He painted on various types of silk, notably velvet; his preferred subjects were famous public figures and Old Master paintings (especially Raphael). He painted on the warp before weaving. There is a collection of Grégoire's portraits on velvet in the Musée Historique des Tissus in Lyon.
