Illuminated manuscript of the Ghent–Bruges school of book illustration, dating from c. 1510–20. The Breviary (Venice, Bib. N. Marciana, MS. lat. I. 99) follows the Franciscan Office of 1477 and consists of 831 parchment sheets (each 275×215 mm) with illuminations on 1280 pages. Most of the pages of text have illuminated border strips on the outer edges, while the 110 text incipits are distinguished by pictorial decoration that ranges from column-width miniatures and decorated or historiated borders to full-page miniatures.
