(1918–1991) Helen Gurin was a leading teacher, supervisor, and guide for a generation of professionals in social work and other fields and an outstanding therapist, planner, clinician, and administrator. After graduating from Hunter College, she earned a master's degree in educational psychology at City College, New York, and an MSW at the Columbia School of Social Work.
