Quick Reference

A holiday for pupils, usually of a week's duration, in the middle of each term of the school year. The summer half‐term holiday usually coincides with the Whitsun bank holiday; the autumn half‐term falls at the end of October; and the date of the spring half‐term depends upon the length of that term and when Easter falls, but is usually sometime in February. While most schools have half‐term holidays, they are less commonly found in further education, and not at all in universities.

Subjects: Education.
