A tungsten–halogen lamp containing halogen gases such as iodine or bromine used to polymerize restorative resin materials. It produces white light, which is filtered to produce blue light at a wavelength of 400–500nm and an energy level of approximately 400mW/cm2. See also plasma lamp.
