(1686–1761), Anglo-Irish historian, and editor of the works of Sir James Ware. Educated in Dublin and employed as administrator to the Bishop of Meath, he prepared The Whole Works of Sir James Ware in two volumes (1739 and 1746). His History and Antiquities of the City of Dublin (1766) was a pioneering work of research.
