Quick Reference

Hart’s rivalry with London printers occasionally gave way to profitable collaboration: in 1601 he helped them organize the printing of English bibles at Dort, circumventing R. Barker’s monopoly. He produced many literary and Presbyterian works; his Geneva Bible of 1610 was the second printed in Scotland. The leading Scottish book importer, Hart traded extensively with the Low Countries.
