The degree to which a person (or specified group) can fulfill usually expected roles and functions physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Any departure from the usually expected status is an indication that disease is present. Health status can be assessed clinically by asking questions and conducting a physical examination and/or by health status indicators or health measurement scales.
