sectarian. An itinerant preacher, c.1116 he gave the Lenten sermons at Le Mans by permission of the bishop. He was expelled from the diocese because he carried anti-clericalism to the point of heresy; he continued his activities in S. France. According to St Bernard, he denied the objective efficacy of the sacraments.
