A furanocoumarin compound, extracted from sweet myrrh Opopanax chironium, that is an inhibitor of receptor-mediated proliferation in human primary T cells and induces DNA fragmentation at the G2/M phases of the cell cycle. Despite a close structural similarity to imperatorin, it induces apoptosis in a mechanistically different way.
