Quick Reference

A humanized monoclonal antibody that blocks EGF-mediated cell proliferation by binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (HER2; c-erbB2). Only the subset of breast carcinomas (25–30%) that overexpress HER2 can be treated with this antibody, one of the first examples of the importance of pharmacogenomics. TN Trastuzumab.
