Argentinian dancer. She studied with Olga Ferri and at Minsk Ballet School making her debut as Cupid in Don Quixote at the Teatro Colón. In 1991 she joined American Ballet Theatre, becoming soloist in 1993 and principal in 1995. Her rapid promotion in the company was driven by an unusually precocious talent and she has since created several leading roles in ballets including Kudelka's Cruel World (1994), Duato's Without Words (1998), and Tharp's The Brahms-Haydn Variations (2000).
