A very rare autosomal recessive metabolic disorder (hyperornithinaemia–hyperammonaemia–homocitrullinuria syndrome) caused by mutation in the mitochondrial ornithine transporter (SLC25A15) gene. The clinical symptoms are related to hyperammonaemia and resemble those of other urea cycle disorders.
