British dancer. She studied with H. Delamere-Wright in Liverpool, joining Ballet Rambert in 1944 where her exceptional dramatic gift was quickly recognized. She then danced with Gore (whom she married) and also with Ballets des Champs-Elysées, Original Ballet Russe, London Festival Ballet, and P. López. She was ballerina with Frankfurt Municipal Stages (1956–8), Edinburgh Festival Ballet, and Gore's London Ballet (1961) and Gulbenkian Ballet (1965–9), as well as guesting with Western Theatre Ballet (1965), Harkness Ballet (1970), and Northern Dance Theatre (1971–2 and 1976). She created roles in many of Gore's ballets, such as Antonia (1949). She was considered an exceptionally fine Giselle.
